As a baby boomer, perhaps you are taking an early retirement soon, or slowing down in secular work so that you’re now only working part time. This will leave plenty of free time on your hands. What will you do with it all?
Slowing down in work doesn’t mean you have to become a boring person, or stay at home doing nothing. There are quite a few things that can be done with your newly acquired free time. You’ve spent your whole life working hard so you should do something just for you. Sure, you can use this time to decorate or redecorate your home. You can also get some garden work done. This is an enjoyable hobby to some, but to others it seems like more work.
What is Your True Will?
Think back to when you were growing up, and remember something that you’ve always wanted to do. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a career choice. It can be a hobby that you haven’t had time to engage in until now. This can range from pottery to dance to all sorts of things. Now is the perfect time to learn how to do something new and fun.
There are many other hobbies you may want to take up. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument, or try delicious cooking recipes. You can even learn a new language.
What about traveling? Surely there’s somewhere in the world you’ve always wanted to go, whether it’s overseas or in your own country. Seeing the sights can be a very enjoyable experience. If you don’t want to leave the country, you can consider going away for a week or so, just visiting local attractions. Maybe you have absolutely no interest in flying or being stuck in a car for hours. In that case, you may consider going on a cruise.
Following Your Dreams is the Path to Prosperity
Being a baby boomer means you have knowledge, wisdom, and experience. You can add to all of these things by enjoying something you’ve always dreamed of doing. This is, after all, your second youth!
